Dr. Rajendra Sonawane

Dr. Rajendra Sonavane, who graduated from Sion Hospital with an MBBS in 1983 and an MS in 1986, has worked in the GI endoscopy department of BPT Hospital and played a key role in establishing the department for laparoscopic surgery. Having had a fruitful career spanning more than thirty years, he is always improving his knowledge and abilities to incorporate the newest technology into the Proctology field. He holds a fellowship in the International College of Surgeons, among other prestigious academic credentials. The World Congress on Coloproctology and the Faculty of Stapler Haemorrhoidopexy have added another “Feather in the Cap.” His precise clinical judgment and deft touch have treated thousands of patients with care and compassion. He is a fierce advocate for moral medical practice.
