Dr. Hemant Pathare stands as a prominent Cardiothoracic Surgeon in Mumbai, boasting an impressive 33 years of overall experience, with 23 years dedicated to his specialization. His educational journey includes the prestigious Seth G S Medical College and King Edward VII Memorial Hospital in Mumbai, where he earned his MBBS, MS (GS), and MCh (CVTS) under the guidance of renowned mentors Dr. Ratna Magotra and Dr. Anil Tendolkar.
Dr. Pathare’s commitment to excellence led him to pursue advanced studies in Aortic Homograft surgery at The Prince Charles Hospital, Brisbane. Further enriching his expertise, he completed fellowships in heart transplant surgery and ventricular assist device placement at the prestigious St. Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney.
Dr. Pathare’s extensive surgical experience is reflected in his involvement in over 70 bilateral sequential lung transplants, 120 heart transplants, more than 65 ECMOs, 24 LVADs, 2 artificial hearts, and 3 BI-VADs. Notable achievements include proctoring Gujarat state’s first two successful heart transplants, performing Western India’s first successful BI-VAD to Heart transplant surgery, and being a consultant transplant surgeon for the team that executed the first 40 heart transplants in Maharashtra.
His dedication to advancing medical knowledge is evident in his authored book on cardiac surgery titled “Bakhar Hrudayarogachee.” Dr. Pathare’s contributions to the field of Cardiothoracic Surgery mark him as a distinguished and influential figure in the medical community.
